Well, I watched the special last night on the Discovery Channel. I must say, it was an interesting show, but I really wasn’t left with an opinion one way or the other.
Of course, I don’t hold a strong need to have the reality be one way or another. It makes no difference to me whether Jesus of Nazereth was buried in that tomb or not. Likewise, I have no investment or need for him to be unmarried and childless.
There will never be any way to prove the assertion that his tomb and bones were found, just as it will be impossible to prove it wasn’t him.
All in all, I found it interesting – but ultimately it had no impact on what I think or believe.
how about you? did you watch? what is your opinion?

The program said the bones found in the ossuaries were given to the authorities and buried near Jerusalem. Why weren’t those bones used for DNA sampling? Since this was about 27 years ago there must be some people around who were involved and would remember. Maybe there can be found a match with Da Vinci, Newton, Hugo, Debussy and others (see Holy Blood, Holy Grail). Joe

At this point, it may be difficult to prove that any bones were the “Exact” ones that came from the tomb.
I believe that Israel wouldn’t do anything to debunk Christianity – for the simple fact that the tourist $$ wouldn’t be there, plus all the Christians in the USA who hold to the biblical idea that GOD gave Israel that land (our defense of Israel) and might just shift thought and support.
of course, I could be wrong – but even if they ever found such evidence – I think it would be buried.
